Thank you for posting your story. I am so sorry about your loss, and the pain that your country has suffered. It is very interesting to read a first person account, rather than a third party article. I hope many people read it too and send you good thoughts and prayers. I hope this sharing will be bring you some peace and comfort and wish you a bright future.
Mr. Dusengiyumva,
Most people are correct when they speak of horrors and pain such as you have experienced as “unspeakable.” It takes a very special soul — and talent — to speak of them indeed, in a voice such as you have. You are an incredible writer. And what you have written about makes so much else that is constantly written out there in the world of books and blogs and journalism — the torrent of words that assault us from all sides every moment of the day in this so-called “information” age — seem trivial.
You have my admiration as a writer, and, inseparable from that, my deepest respect as a human being.
Thank you. And know that will now be a regular reader of your blog.
